Please join us for the Enhancing Humanism in Medicine CME Series. This program is targeted toward all clinicians who would like to look more deeply into the topics about how to better care for one’s self as a clinician and the impact of that on patients, learners, and the practice of medicine.

This one time per month series offers a variety of topics over the course of one year, which will be delivered in an experiential way. All of the topics will include a research component along with a way to practice what is being learned in the session.

Space is limited so that participants will stay the same throughout the cohort as a way to build community as we explore the aspects of challenge and joy in practice.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Following participation in this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explore what brought you to medicine

  • Explore meaningful experiences in clinical practice and how our attention, intentions and attitudes affect our experiences at work

  • Develop ways to promote/enhance compassion both towards one’s patients in clinical care, and towards oneself

  • Investigate the impact grief has on the professional and personal lives of the clinician

  • Apply healthy approaches to working with grief and loss

  • Experience a mindful practice designed to enhance resilience by building awareness that is linked with self-compassion

  • Explore the improvisational nature of the medical encounter

Due to the COVID-19 and in accordance with CDC guidance, in-person attendance will not be available.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

Each webinar is 1.00 hour. A maximum of 12.00 hours is available over the course of the 12 sessions.
