Narrative Medicine

Hosted by: Antoinette Rose, MD
Date: Thursday, June 16, 2022 | 7:00 - 8:30 AM (PST)
Registration: Free

There is no charge to participate in the sessions, but pre-registration is required.

We will spend half the session closely engaging with a single work of art (which can be visual, writing, etc.) and having a guided conversation about it. In the second half of the session we will write spontaneously for 5 minutes to a prompt related to the work of art, and then share our writing (only if that feels comfortable). Narrative Medicine sessions have been shown to give participants a renewed sense of energy and compassion, a heightened feeling of connection to others, and a refreshing return to the skills of attention and presence, which can deepen our satisfaction with our clinical practice. No preparation is required.
