Speaker Series: Burnout to Freedom: Total Physician Wellness

Between the pandemic, understaffing, under resourcing, the focus on the bottom line, and more, this is a tough time for physicians. In this dynamic and experiential session, physicians will learn how pragmatic mindfulness restores autonomy and mitigates burnout.

Burnout has been shown to cause suicide, physical and mental illness, and overall disruption of patient care due to mental illness of care providers. The purpose of this talk is to give attendees tools, skills, and resources to prevent and beat burnout, and thus prevent and reduce attrition, and improve the disruptions of patient care.

  • Learning Objectives:

    1) Identify disempowering myths about burnout that make it worse

    2) Develop robust and creative solutions to specific issues that cause burnout for you.

    3) Develop a support system via delegation, hiring, and asking for help.

    4) Provide effective and ethical patient care by utilizing various mindset tools to reduce feelings of stress and overwhelm that inevitably accompany burnout.
